Evidence of Cessation
A resignation letter by a director of the company serves as an evidence of cessation of his directorship in that company.
It is important that the proof of service of resignation notice either by post or by courier or by email or by hand delivery acknowledgement or otherwise is available to prove that the notice was duly delivered to the company.
Effective Date of Resignation
The resignation of a director is effective from:
• the date on which the notice was received by the company; or
• the date, if any, specified by the director in the notice,
• whichever is later.
Following is a template of such a resignation letter by a director. Modify it suitably as required.
